Senior REST API Developer Needed for API Gateway Setup

About the role

LumenWorks is undertaking a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a REST API Developer to redesign critical endpoints, improve latency, and ensure uptime under heavy load.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing NodeJS services and pinpoint bottlenecks
• Refactor APIs for optimal response times and scalability
• Implement robust error handling, logging, and monitoring
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to define performance benchmarks
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests

Must-have skills

• 5+ years building high‑throughput REST APIs
• Deep expertise in NodeJS and JavaScript
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL, including indexing and query tuning
• Experience with performance profiling and load testing tools

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of caching strategies (Redis, CDN)
