About the role
Orbit Labs is building a high‑throughput data ingestion platform for real‑time analytics. We need a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead a test‑automation uplift that will dramatically cut regression risk before each product launch. The focus is on creating repeatable, automated validation pipelines that give the engineering team confidence in rapid releases.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a CI/CD‑integrated test automation framework using Python, pytest, and Selenium for UI and API validation.
- Containerize test suites with Docker and orchestrate them on a Kubernetes cluster (EKS) to run in parallel across multiple environments.
- Develop Terraform modules to provision isolated test environments on AWS, ensuring environment parity with production.
- Collaborate with developers to embed contract‑based testing and chaos engineering experiments into the release cycle.
- Monitor test pipeline health with Prometheus and Grafana, setting alerts for flaky tests and performance regressions.
- Document test‑automation standards and hand‑off guidelines for the broader SRE team.
Must-have skills
- 5+ years SRE experience with large‑scale cloud services.
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and test automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation.
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudWatch) and monitoring stacks.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with chaos engineering tools such as Gremlin or Litmus.
