About the role

NexGen Media is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need an AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and validate security controls across our AWS environment, ensuring compliance and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing AWS resources and identify security gaps
• Implement IAM policies, least‑privilege roles, and MFA enforcement
• Configure VPC security groups, NACLs, and endpoint protections
• Integrate AWS Config and GuardDuty for continuous monitoring
• Automate remediation scripts using CloudFormation or Terraform
• Document security architecture and provide knowledge transfer

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Config)
• Proficiency in Docker containerization and orchestration
• Solid DevOps mindset with CI/CD pipeline integration
• Hands‑on Linux administration and scripting (Bash/Python)

Nice to have

• Certifications such as AWS Security Specialty or Solutions Architect
• Experience with automated compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks)
• Familiarity with serverless security patterns
