About the role
NexGen Media is modernizing its operations data flow. We need an AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build, and optimise a data pipeline that feeds analytics dashboards for cross‑functional teams. The contract focuses on automating ingestion, transformation, and secure storage while ensuring high availability.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and deploy end‑to‑end data pipelines on AWS using services such as S3, Lambda, Kinesis and Glue.
- Containerise processing components with Docker and orchestrate with ECS or EKS.
- Implement CI/CD for infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Monitor performance, set alerts, and troubleshoot latency or failure points.
- Collaborate with data analysts to align pipeline outputs with reporting needs.
Must-have skills
- 3+ years of AWS architecture and data‑engineer experience.
- Proficiency with Docker containers and Linux environments.
- Strong DevOps mindset: CI/CD, IaC, automated testing.
- Hands‑on experience with serverless data processing (Lambda, Glue).
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Apache Airflow or Step Functions for workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with Redshift, Athena, or Snowflake.
- Experience implementing security best practices (IAM, KMS).
