About the role

Summit Digital is scaling its B2B SaaS platform and needs a Java Developer to drive multi‑tenant feature delivery. You will work on the new TenantX Engine, extending core services to support isolated customer data and configurable workflows while maintaining high performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement tenant‑aware data models in MySQL using Hibernate.
• Develop RESTful endpoints for the TenantX Engine with Spring Boot, ensuring strict separation of tenant contexts.
• Integrate feature flags via LaunchDarkly to toggle new capabilities per tenant during the 8‑week sprint.
• Write unit and integration tests with JUnit and Testcontainers to achieve 85% coverage.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to containerize services using Docker and deploy to Kubernetes staging clusters.
• Monitor performance bottlenecks with New Relic and optimise query plans for multi‑tenant workloads.

Must-have skills

• Strong Java (8+) and Spring Boot experience.
• Proficient in MySQL schema design and query optimisation.
• Hands‑on with REST API development and documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of multi‑tenant architecture patterns.

Nice to have

• Experience with feature‑flag platforms such as LaunchDarkly.
• Knowledge of Kafka or other event‑driven messaging systems.
