About the role

Northbay Systems is preparing a new app store release that must align mobile front‑ends with robust backend services. We need a REST API Developer to design, implement, and document the APIs that power the upcoming mobile experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design clean, versioned REST endpoints for user, content, and analytics services
• Implement server logic in NodeJS, ensuring high performance and security
• Integrate PostgreSQL schemas, write efficient queries, and manage migrations
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define contract contracts and error handling
• Write unit and integration tests, and maintain CI pipelines

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building REST APIs with NodeJS
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL data modeling and query optimization
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI)

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP)
• Knowledge of mobile‑backend synchronization patterns
