About the role

Cascade Apps seeks an Android Developer to lead a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. The freelance role focuses on optimizing existing code, reducing latency, and ensuring stable operation under load.

Key responsibilities

• Profile and benchmark current Android modules to identify bottlenecks
• Refactor critical paths for memory efficiency and faster UI rendering
• Implement robust error handling and automated recovery mechanisms
• Collaborate with QA to design stress tests and reliability metrics
• Document changes and provide guidance for future maintenance

Must-have skills

• 5+ years Android development experience
• Deep knowledge of Kotlin, Java, and Android SDK internals
• Proven track record improving app performance and crash rates
• Familiarity with profiling tools (Android Studio, Systrace, LeakCanary)

Nice to have

• Experience with Jetpack Compose and Coroutines
• Background in CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps
• Understanding of network optimization and caching strategies
