Senior Java Developer Needed for Automated Platform Modernization

About the role

NexGen Media is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a seasoned Java Developer to redesign core components, reduce latency, and ensure uptime under peak loads. You will work closely with product owners and QA to deliver measurable improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor existing Java services for higher throughput and lower response times
• Implement resilient microservice patterns (circuit breaker, bulkhead, retries)
• Introduce comprehensive logging, tracing, and health‑check endpoints
• Collaborate with DevOps to fine‑tune JVM and container settings
• Write automated unit and integration tests to guard against regressions

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of Java development experience
• Deep expertise with Spring Boot and microservice architecture
• Proven track record improving performance of production systems
• Strong debugging and profiling skills (JVM, GC, thread dumps)

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes or Docker orchestration
• Familiarity with distributed tracing tools (Jaeger, Zipkin)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for Java applications
