About the role

Orbit Labs is preparing a high‑impact app store launch that must tightly align mobile front‑ends with robust backend services. We need a Microservices Architect to design, implement, and document a scalable microservice ecosystem that supports rapid feature rollout and seamless mobile integration.

Key responsibilities

• Define service boundaries and communication contracts for the new app store release
• Design Docker‑based deployment pipelines and Kubernetes orchestration strategies
• Create API gateways, service discovery, and observability standards
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to ensure data contracts meet latency and bandwidth constraints
• Guide the team on versioning, CI/CD, and automated testing for microservices

Must-have skills

• Deep experience architecting Java‑based microservices
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, gRPC, and event‑driven patterns
• Ability to translate mobile performance needs into backend designs

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud‑native services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with API security frameworks (OAuth2, JWT)
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
