About the role

Ridgeline Software is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a MongoDB Specialist to redesign data access patterns, improve performance, and ensure zero‑downtime migrations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing MongoDB schemas and query workloads
• Design sharding, indexing, and aggregation strategies for high availability
• Implement automated migration scripts with rollback safety
• Collaborate with backend engineers to refactor data‑access layers
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning dashboards

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing production MongoDB clusters
• Deep knowledge of replica sets, sharding, and transactions
• Experience with zero‑downtime migration techniques
• Proficiency in JavaScript and NodeJS ecosystems
• Strong debugging and performance tuning abilities

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud‑native MongoDB services (Atlas, Azure Cosmos)
• Background in CI/CD pipelines for database changes
• Exposure to data modeling for event‑driven architectures
