About the role

Orbit Labs is revamping its customer‑facing services to boost performance and reliability. We need a seasoned Python Backend Developer to redesign core APIs, optimize database interactions, and implement robust monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor existing Django services for lower latency and higher throughput
• Design and implement scalable REST APIs adhering to clean architecture
• Optimize PostgreSQL queries and introduce appropriate indexing strategies
• Set up automated testing, CI pipelines, and performance benchmarks
• Collaborate with front‑end and DevOps teams to ensure end‑to‑end reliability

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of Python backend development
• Deep expertise in Django and REST API design
• Strong command of PostgreSQL performance tuning
• Experience with profiling, caching, and asynchronous processing

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
