Senior REST API Developer for SaaS Integration

About the role

Pinecrest Systems is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a REST API Developer to reinforce authentication, authorization, and data protection layers across our services. The work will focus on tightening API gateways, implementing token validation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing REST endpoints for security gaps and remediate vulnerabilities
• Implement OAuth2/JWT flows and role‑based access controls
• Integrate input validation, rate limiting, and logging mechanisms
• Collaborate with DevOps to apply secure configurations in CI/CD pipelines
• Write automated tests to verify security controls and regression safety

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building and securing REST APIs
• Proficiency with NodeJS and JavaScript
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization
• Understanding of OWASP API Security Top 10

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience using security scanning tools (Snyk, SonarQube)
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
