Our team is currently working on a large-scale migration project, moving our entire application suite to the AWS cloud. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures on AWS, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker, focusing on microservices architecture and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud services into applications, promoting a cloud-first approach.
• Implement automated deployment scripts using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, ensuring version control and continuous integration.
• Manage and optimize cloud costs, leveraging AWS services such as AWS Cost Explorer and AWS Budgets.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements, performing regular security audits and penetration testing.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
• Participate in on-call rotations, providing 24/7 support for critical cloud services and applications.
• Contribute to the development of our cloud strategy, staying up-to-date with the latest AWS services and features.
• Collaborate with the security team to design and implement robust security controls, including IAM policies and network security groups.
• Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve overall team capability.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to our coding standards.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our cloud infrastructure and services.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in cloud computing, preferably with AWS, including design, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with containerization using Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and CircleCI.
• Proficiency in Linux, including scripting and command-line tools.
• AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, are highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues in cloud environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in agile development environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
• Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks, such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR.
