About the role

Vertex Analytics is modernizing the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a Cybersecurity Analyst to embed security controls while supporting rapid scaling and low‑latency requirements. You will work closely with engineers to identify risk, harden systems, and ensure compliance throughout the overhaul.

Key responsibilities

• Perform threat modeling and vulnerability assessments on new service components
• Design and implement security monitoring and alerting for high‑traffic APIs
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines
• Conduct code reviews focusing on secure coding practices in Python and scripting
• Document findings and provide actionable remediation plans

Must-have skills

• Strong understanding of network security and hardening techniques
• Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting
• Hands‑on experience with Linux system administration and security tools
• Ability to translate security findings into clear recommendations

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud security frameworks (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of container security and orchestration platforms
• Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2
