Key Responsibilities

  • Format manuscripts to the highest standards, using software such as Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure that all documents are accurate and consistent in style and formatting
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication, including proofreading and editing for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors
  • Design and implement templates for documents, such as tables of contents, headers, and footers
  • Develop and maintain style guides and formatting standards for the company
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure that all documents are prepared for print and digital publication in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provide training and support to other team members on document formatting and editing software
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on document formatting and editing standards
  • Conduct research on best practices in document formatting and editing, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Analyze and solve problems with document formatting and editing, and provide solutions to the team
  • Assist in the development of new projects, including researching and developing new formatting and editing styles
  • Maintain accurate records of all documents formatted and edited, and provide reports to management as required
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as design and production, to ensure that all documents are consistent in style and formatting
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that all documents meet the company's high standards

Requirements

  • Strong background in document formatting, with experience in using software such as Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a strong sense of priority and organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in using style guides, such as the Chicago Manual of Style
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and solve problems with document formatting and editing
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct research on best practices in document formatting and editing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to provide excellent service to authors and other stakeholders
  • Experience in using data entry software, with strong data entry skills
  • Certification in document formatting or editing, such as a certificate in publishing or editing
