Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts.
  • Perform data entry tasks, including invoicing, expense tracking, and journal entries.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Develop and implement effective financial procedures and controls.
  • Collaborate with the senior accountant to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Provide support during audits and financial statement preparations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and industry standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks and Xero.
  • Excellent data entry skills, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and industry standards.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in accounting or a related field an asset.
  • Certification in bookkeeping or a related field an asset.
