As a Basic Bookkeeper with Nova Financial Solutions, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of financial software and systems, including QuickBooks and Xero. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in this role, as you will be working closely with our finance team and other stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and payment processing
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to management and other stakeholders
  • Develop and implement financial procedures and policies to ensure efficient financial operations
  • Provide support and guidance to other team members on financial matters
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure seamless financial operations
  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies and errors
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and stakeholders
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including QuickBooks and Xero
  • Excellent data entry and record-keeping skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
  • Certificate in bookkeeping or accounting (CPA or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
