About the role

Cascade Apps is launching a security hardening initiative for its suite of cloud‑hosted IoT management services. As an IoT Solutions Architect you will lead the design and implementation of robust security controls for the new "Nimbus Edge" module, ensuring data integrity and compliance across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and enforce zero‑trust networking for the Nimbus Edge micro‑services using AWS VPC, security groups, and IAM policies.
• Implement automated TLS certificate rotation and mutual authentication for device‑to‑cloud communication via cert‑manager.
• Develop and integrate intrusion detection rules in Azure Sentinel to monitor anomalous IoT traffic patterns.
• Lead a hardening sprint to remediate CVE‑related findings in container images using Trivy and Docker Bench.
• Create Terraform modules that provision hardened Linux hosts with SELinux, AppArmor, and sysctl hardening knobs.
• Document security baselines and run regular compliance scans with OpenSCAP, reporting findings to stakeholders.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP) and secure device onboarding.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and network segmentation.
• Proficiency in Linux hardening, container security, and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong scripting abilities in Python and JavaScript for automation and API integration.
• Track record designing and implementing security frameworks for large‑scale SaaS products.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with edge computing frameworks such as AWS Greengrass or Azure IoT Edge.
• Certifications like CISSP or AWS Security Specialty.
