About the role
Summit Digital is embarking on a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. As a Microservices Architect you will lead the redesign of the "PulseStream" module, ensuring low latency and high availability across all user‑touch points.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a resilient microservice mesh for PulseStream using Istio and Envoy.
- Migrate legacy monolith components to Docker containers and orchestrate them on Kubernetes clusters.
- Define API contracts and enforce versioning standards with OpenAPI specifications.
- Set up automated performance testing pipelines in JMeter and integrate results into CI/CD with GitLab.
- Collaborate with SREs to establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and implement real‑time monitoring via Prometheus and Grafana.
- Document architecture decisions and create runbooks for incident response.
Must-have skills
- Deep expertise in microservices design patterns and event‑driven architectures.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies.
- Strong Java development background and RESTful API design.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Ability to troubleshoot latency issues and implement scaling strategies.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Knowledge of Terraform or other IaC tools.
