PHP Developer for End-to-End Legacy PHP Migration

About the role

NexGen Media is scaling its product launch pipeline and needs a PHP Developer to lead a test automation uplift. You will design and integrate automated regression suites that catch issues before each release, reducing launch risk and improving delivery confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain PHP‑based test frameworks using Laravel and PHPUnit
• Create data‑driven test cases for critical user flows
• Integrate tests into CI pipelines and monitor results
• Collaborate with QA and product teams to prioritize test coverage
• Document test strategies and provide training for internal developers

Must-have skills

• Strong PHP development experience (3+ years)
• Proficiency with Laravel ecosystem
• Solid MySQL knowledge and query optimization
• Hands‑on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Codeception, PHPUnit)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or containerized test environments
• Experience with CI/CD platforms like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI
• Basic understanding of front‑end testing (e.g., Cypress)
