About the role

LumenWorks is revamping the performance and reliability of its flagship customer‑facing mobile suite. As a React Native Developer you will lead the redesign of the "PulseSync" module, ensuring smooth, low‑latency interactions across Android and iOS devices. This short‑term contract focuses on eliminating bottlenecks, improving crash resilience, and delivering measurable latency reductions.

Key responsibilities

• Profile existing React Native codebase with Flipper and Android Studio Profiler to identify latency hotspots.
• Refactor network layer using Axios with retry logic and exponential back‑off for unstable connections.
• Implement native bridge optimizations for heavy UI components, leveraging Hermes and TurboModules.
• Set up automated performance regression tests in CircleCI, tracking frame‑rate and memory usage.
• Collaborate with QA to simulate real‑world network conditions and verify stability thresholds.
• Document all changes in Confluence, providing clear migration steps for the existing app.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with React Native (2+ years) and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Proficiency in Android and iOS native debugging tools.
• Hands‑on knowledge of performance profiling (Flipper, Xcode Instruments).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably CircleCI or GitHub Actions.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and unit tests.

Nice to have

• Experience with Hermes engine tuning.
• Background in native module development (Java/Kotlin, Swift/Obj‑C).
