About the role

NovaForge Tech is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a REST API Developer to design and deliver the core service layer. You will shape the API contract, implement endpoints, and ensure scalability for a fast‑growing user base.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and build a clean, versioned REST API using NodeJS
• Define data models in PostgreSQL and write performant queries
• Implement authentication, rate‑limiting, and error handling standards
• Collaborate with front‑end and product teams to translate requirements into API specs
• Write unit and integration tests and maintain CI pipelines
• Document endpoints with OpenAPI/Swagger for internal and external consumers

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building RESTful services with NodeJS
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)
• Hands‑on PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization
• Understanding of API security best practices

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
• Experience in event‑driven architectures or message queues
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins
