About the role

Vertex Analytics is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a REST API Developer to reinforce authentication, data validation, and logging across our services.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing Node.js APIs for security gaps and implement fixes
• Design and integrate token‑based authentication and role‑based access controls
• Enhance input validation, rate limiting, and error handling
• Write automated tests to verify security controls
• Collaborate with DevOps to ensure secure deployment pipelines

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building and securing RESTful APIs with NodeJS
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and PostgreSQL
• Understanding of OWASP API Security Top 10
• Ability to write clean, documented, and testable code

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud IAM services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with CI/CD security scanning tools
