About the role
Vertex Analytics is embarking on a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a DevOps Engineer who can design, implement, and fine‑tune infrastructure to meet stringent SLAs while supporting rapid feature delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Audit existing pipelines and identify bottlenecks in build, test, and deployment stages.
- Redesign CI/CD workflows using best‑in‑class tools to improve throughput and rollback safety.
- Containerize legacy components with Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes clusters.
- Implement autoscaling, health‑checks, and monitoring on AWS to ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with developers to embed reliability patterns and chaos testing.
Must-have skills
- Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
- Proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, or similar).
- Solid grasp of infrastructure as code and scripting.
Nice to have
- Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies.
- Background in performance testing and load‑balancing strategies.
