About the role

Orbit Labs is launching a high‑velocity CI/CD sprint to automate its microservices platform. We need a Microservices Architect who can design end‑to‑end pipelines, enforce best‑practice container strategies, and accelerate release cadence.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and document a scalable CI/CD framework for Java‑based microservices
• Implement automated build, test, and deployment workflows using Docker and Kubernetes
• Integrate secret management, observability, and rollback mechanisms into pipelines
• Collaborate with developers to refactor services for cloud‑native patterns
• Conduct performance tuning and cost‑optimization reviews during the sprint

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing microservices architectures
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Strong Java development background
• Hands‑on expertise in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Ability to script infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)

Nice to have

• Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Familiarity with monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana)
