About the role

BlueSky Ventures is building a next‑gen mobile marketplace and needs an NLP Engineer to align its conversational AI layer with the backend services for the upcoming app store launch. You will own the LexiSync module, which powers in‑app search, intent detection, and personalized recommendations across iOS and Android.

Key responsibilities

• Design and fine‑tune transformer models (BERT, RoBERTa) using PyTorch for real‑time intent classification.
• Integrate the LexiSync NLP pipeline with FastAPI endpoints that serve mobile clients via REST.
• Implement data preprocessing workflows in spaCy and TensorFlow Data for multilingual user queries.
• Containerize the entire NLP stack with Docker and orchestrate deployments on AWS ECS for zero‑downtime releases.
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to benchmark latency and ensure sub‑200 ms response times before the store release.
• Write unit and integration tests using pytest and set up CI pipelines in GitHub Actions.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of hands‑on NLP model development and productionization.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript for API glue code.
• Experience with REST API design and FastAPI framework.
• Strong knowledge of transformer architectures, spaCy, and TensorFlow.
• Docker, AWS ECS/EKS, and CI/CD pipeline expertise.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with on‑device inference libraries for iOS/Android.
• Background in MLOps tools such as MLflow or Kubeflow.
