About the role

Cascade Apps is launching a brand‑new SaaS product from the ground up. We need a seasoned PostgreSQL Administrator to design, deploy, and fine‑tune the data layer that will power the service for a remote‑first team.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement a high‑availability PostgreSQL cluster on cloud infrastructure
• Develop automated provisioning scripts and CI pipelines for database schema changes
• Monitor performance, conduct capacity planning, and resolve bottlenecks
• Define backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery procedures
• Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and data models

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Strong knowledge of replication, sharding, and partitioning strategies
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and IaC tools
• Proficiency in SQL performance tuning and indexing
• Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB and MySQL ecosystems
• Background in containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of GDPR and data‑privacy compliance
