About the role

Northbay Systems is launching a security hardening initiative for its suite of cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Python Backend Developer to reinforce authentication, data protection, and intrusion detection across micro‑services.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing Django services for security gaps and implement remediation
• Design and integrate token‑based authentication and role‑based access controls
• Enforce encryption at rest and in transit for PostgreSQL databases
• Develop automated security tests and CI pipeline checks
• Collaborate with DevOps to apply hardening configurations in cloud environments

Must-have skills

• 5+ years Python development, strong Django expertise
• Deep understanding of REST API security best practices
• Hands‑on experience securing PostgreSQL deployments
• Familiarity with OWASP guidelines and cloud security tools

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty)
• Knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Previous work on security incident response
