About the role

NexGen Media is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing Android services. We need an Android Developer to lead the overhaul, ensuring fast load times, low crash rates, and smooth user experiences across all devices.

Key responsibilities

• Profile and benchmark existing Android codebases to identify bottlenecks
• Refactor critical modules for memory efficiency and thread safety
• Implement robust error handling and automated recovery flows
• Integrate performance monitoring tools and set alert thresholds
• Collaborate with QA and backend teams to validate end‑to‑end reliability

Must-have skills

• 5+ years Android development with Kotlin and Java
• Deep understanding of Android architecture components and Jetpack
• Experience optimizing UI rendering, network calls, and background processing
• Proven track record delivering high‑performance, stable apps

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Coroutines, Flow, and Compose
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Android
• Knowledge of A/B testing and feature flag frameworks
