About the role

NexGen Media is building a next‑generation streaming platform and needs an Android Developer to lead a test automation uplift for its upcoming launch. You will focus on reducing regression risk by creating robust automated UI and API tests for the new "PulsePlayer" module.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Espresso‑based UI test suites for the PulsePlayer playback flow.
• Integrate REST‑Assured API tests into the CI pipeline using GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate with QA to identify flaky tests and improve stability before each sprint.
• Document test case libraries and maintain test data generators in Kotlin.
• Provide weekly automation health reports and recommend coverage improvements.

Must-have skills

• Strong Android development experience with Kotlin and Java.
• Proficiency in Espresso, UI Automator, and REST‑Assured.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Understanding of MVVM architecture and Retrofit networking.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable test code and debug failures.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Firebase Test Lab for device farms.
• Experience with performance testing tools like Android Profiler.
