About the role

Northbay Systems is preparing a new app store launch and needs a GraphQL API Developer to bridge mobile front‑ends with backend services. You will shape the data layer that powers real‑time features and ensures seamless mobile‑backend alignment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a GraphQL schema that aggregates existing REST endpoints.
• Collaborate with React mobile engineers to define query contracts and pagination strategies.
• Optimize resolvers for performance and low latency on mobile networks.
• Write comprehensive tests and documentation for API consumers.
• Assist in CI/CD pipeline integration for automated schema validation.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building GraphQL services in NodeJS.
• Proficiency with React data fetching patterns (Apollo, Relay).
• Deep understanding of REST API concepts and migration strategies.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and unit tests.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with mobile app performance profiling.
• Experience with serverless deployment models.
