About the role
Silverline Labs is revamping its flagship customer‑facing platform, codenamed "Nimbus Core", to achieve industry‑leading latency and uptime. As a Microservices Architect you will lead the performance and reliability overhaul, shaping the next‑gen service mesh that powers millions of daily transactions.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a resilient micro‑service topology using Spring Boot and gRPC to replace legacy monolith endpoints.
- Define service‑level objectives (SLOs) and establish automated health‑checks with Prometheus and Grafana.
- Refactor critical payment‑flow services into containerized workloads, optimizing CPU and memory footprints.
- Guide the migration to a Kubernetes‑based deployment pipeline, incorporating Helm charts and canary releases.
- Collaborate with the data engineering team to introduce caching layers via Redis for high‑throughput read paths.
- Conduct load‑testing campaigns with k6, delivering benchmark reports and remediation plans.
Must-have skills
- Deep expertise in micro‑services design patterns and event‑driven architectures.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm for production deployments.
- Strong Java development background, including Spring ecosystem.
- Hands‑on experience building and securing REST and gRPC APIs.
- Track record of implementing observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger).
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AWS EKS or GKE managed services.
- Experience with chaos engineering tools such as LitmusChaos.
