About the role

DataPro Services seeks a seasoned Database Administrator to lead the migration and optimization of critical data assets. This short‑term engagement focuses on enhancing performance, ensuring security, and establishing robust backup procedures for a high‑traffic production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement migration strategies for existing SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Optimize queries, indexes, and schema designs to improve response times.
• Configure and manage backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery plans.
• Monitor database health, perform capacity planning, and tune performance.
• Enforce security best practices, including user permissions and encryption.
• Document procedures and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Must-have skills

• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL administration.
• Proficiency in MongoDB deployment and tuning.
• Strong Linux system administration skills.
• Deep understanding of backup, replication, and high‑availability solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex performance issues.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos DB).
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
