Senior Database Administrator for Customer-Facing Performance Tuning

About the role

NovaForge Tech is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a Database Administrator to design and implement the core data platform from scratch. You will work with a remote‑first, agile team to ensure high availability, performance, and security as the service scales.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and provision PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL clusters for the new product
• Develop automated backup, recovery, and monitoring pipelines
• Optimize queries and indexes to meet latency targets under load
• Define and enforce data security and compliance policies
• Collaborate with developers to design efficient schema and migration strategies

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production
• Strong command of SQL performance tuning and NoSQL data modeling
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation

Nice to have

• Knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes) for DB workloads
• Familiarity with cloud‑native services (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL)
• Background in CI/CD integration for database changes
