About the role

CoreData Systems is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a GraphQL API Developer to redesign the data layer, replace brittle REST endpoints, and ensure zero‑downtime migrations. You will work closely with the existing engineering team to incrementally roll out new services while keeping the current system fully operational.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a GraphQL gateway that aggregates legacy services
• Refactor critical business logic into NodeJS micro‑services
• Create migration scripts and feature flags for seamless cut‑over
• Write comprehensive tests and documentation for new APIs
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot latency during rollout

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with GraphQL schema design and resolvers
• Proficiency in NodeJS and building scalable back‑ends
• Strong understanding of REST API patterns and transition strategies
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and zero‑downtime deployment techniques

Nice to have

• Experience with React front‑ends consuming GraphQL
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Background in legacy system modernization projects
