Senior Microservices Architect – Enterprise API Design

About the role

NexGen Media is launching a CI/CD and platform automation sprint to accelerate release cycles. We need a Microservices Architect to design, implement, and optimize the service mesh that underpins our new deployment pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and document microservice boundaries for rapid CI/CD integration
• Build reusable Docker images and Helm charts for Kubernetes clusters
• Define automated testing and validation stages within the pipeline
• Collaborate with developers to refactor legacy services into containerized Java modules
• Monitor performance and implement scaling policies for production workloads

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing microservice architectures
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
• Strong Java development background
• Hands‑on CI/CD pipeline creation (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
• Experience with automated security scanning tools
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
