Senior PHP Developer Needed for Laravel API Build Delivery

About the role

NovaForge Tech is undertaking a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a seasoned PHP Developer to refactor core code, optimise database interactions and implement robust caching strategies. The work will directly impact response times and uptime for thousands of users.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing PHP codebase for bottlenecks and refactor for speed
• Design and implement Laravel services that scale horizontally
• Rewrite critical MySQL queries, add indexes and use query caching
• Integrate monitoring tools and set up alerting for service health
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure seamless deployment pipelines

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of professional PHP development
• Deep expertise in Laravel framework and its ecosystem
• Advanced MySQL optimisation and schema design
• Experience with performance profiling and caching (Redis, OPcache)
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving abilities

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes for containerised deployments
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Exposure to monitoring platforms like New Relic or Prometheus
