About the role
We are launching a greenfield SaaS product and need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, deploy, and tune the primary data store. You will work with a remote‑first team to ensure high availability and performance from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Architect the PostgreSQL cluster for multi‑region resilience
- Implement automated backups, point‑in‑time recovery, and monitoring
- Optimize queries and indexes for latency‑critical services
- Collaborate with developers to define schema evolution and migration strategy
- Document procedures and provide knowledge transfer for ongoing ops
Must-have skills
- 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
- Strong SQL performance tuning and indexing expertise
- Experience with replication, sharding, and failover setups
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) for automation
Nice to have
- Familiarity with MongoDB or MySQL ecosystems
- Exposure to container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for database changes
