About the role

Summit Digital is launching a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to lead database tuning, replication setup, and failover design, ensuring seamless user experiences under load.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize PostgreSQL query performance across critical services
• Design and implement high‑availability clusters with streaming replication
• Develop automated monitoring and alerting for latency and downtime
• Collaborate with developers to refactor schema and indexing strategies
• Document procedures and provide knowledge transfer to the ops team

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Deep understanding of query planning, indexing, and partitioning
• Experience with replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
• Proficiency in Linux shell scripting and automation tools

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB and MySQL ecosystems
• Exposure to container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of cloud‑native database services
