About the role

AlphaEdge Tech is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator who can lead a focused overhaul, ensuring databases handle peak traffic with stability.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze current PostgreSQL workloads and pinpoint bottlenecks.
• Implement indexing, partitioning, and query‑tuning strategies.
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and automated failover mechanisms.
• Collaborate with dev teams to refactor queries and schema designs.
• Document performance baselines and post‑optimisation results.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of query optimization, replication, and backup strategies.
• Experience with Linux/Unix system administration.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB or MySQL ecosystems.
• Exposure to containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Certifications in database administration or cloud platforms.
