About the role

Northbay Systems is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a REST API Developer to design and implement zero‑downtime updates while keeping existing services stable.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor and extend legacy APIs to a clean NodeJS architecture
• Implement blue‑green and canary deployment patterns for zero‑downtime releases
• Write automated tests and monitoring hooks for new endpoints
• Collaborate with DevOps to tune PostgreSQL performance under load
• Document API contracts and migration guides for internal teams

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building RESTful services with NodeJS
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+)
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization
• Understanding of zero‑downtime deployment strategies

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline tooling
