Key Responsibilities

• Translate technical documents from English to Spanish, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to the client's style guide.
• Utilize Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools to leverage translation memories and terminology databases for consistency and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the client's technical team to resolve any translation-related queries or concerns.
• Conduct thorough research to understand the context and technical terms used in the documents.
• Edit and proofread translations to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.
• Manage translation projects from receipt of files to delivery, including file analysis, quotation, project planning, and quality control.
• Maintain up-to-date records of translations, including version control and backup of files.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance translation skills and stay updated on industry trends.
• Develop and maintain glossaries and terminology lists for future projects.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, suggesting better practices and tools that can enhance the translation process.
• Meet project deadlines while prioritizing quality, often working under pressure to deliver translations promptly.
• Contribute to the development of Translation Memories (TMs) and Termbases to support future translations.
• Provide feedback to the project manager on the translation process, highlighting any challenges and potential solutions.
• Participate in linguistic testing and evaluation to ensure that translations meet the required standards.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and Spanish, with native-level proficiency in Spanish.
• At least 2 years of experience in translating technical documents, preferably in the software industry.
• Strong knowledge of CAT tools, such as MemoQ, Trados, or similar software.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to project management and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with terminological management and the development of glossaries.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and files efficiently.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• A degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
