About the role

Northbay Systems is enhancing its release pipeline with a focused test automation uplift to cut regression risk before launch. We need a PHP Developer who can design, implement, and integrate automated tests into existing CI workflows, ensuring reliable coverage across core services.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and code PHP‑based test suites using Laravel testing utilities.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for nightly builds.
• Collaborate with QA and product teams to prioritize high‑risk scenarios.
• Document test cases, results, and maintenance procedures.
• Monitor flakiness and refine tests for stability.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with PHP and Laravel framework.
• Proficient in MySQL schema design and query optimization.
• Hands‑on knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., PHPUnit, Codeception).
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and version control (Git).

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker or containerized test environments.
• Background in behavior‑driven development (BDD).
• Understanding of performance testing for PHP applications.
