About the role
Cascade Apps is launching a security hardening initiative for its suite of cloud‑hosted applications. As a Data Scientist you will lead the analytics effort for the "SecureLens" module, building models that detect configuration drift, anomalous access patterns, and potential data exfiltration risks. Your work will directly influence how we tighten security controls across multi‑region deployments.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a Bayesian anomaly detection model using PyMC3 to flag unusual API usage in real‑time.
- Develop automated feature pipelines in Python that ingest CloudWatch logs, VPC flow logs, and PostgreSQL audit tables.
- Collaborate with the DevSecOps team to integrate model alerts into the CI/CD pipeline via REST API endpoints.
- Produce quarterly risk dashboards in JavaScript (D3.js) that visualize threat vectors per application module.
- Validate model performance against synthetic attack simulations and iterate to achieve >95% precision.
- Document data lineage and model governance processes for compliance audits.
Must-have skills
- Advanced Python programming for data science and API integration.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL for complex query building and data extraction.
- Proficiency in building and deploying REST APIs for model serving.
- Expertise in statistical modeling, anomaly detection, and machine learning pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud security logs (AWS, GCP) and data privacy regulations.
Nice to have
- Experience with D3.js or other JavaScript visualization libraries.
- Knowledge of containerized ML deployment using Docker or Kubernetes.
- Proposal: 0
- Less than 3 month
