About the role

Northbay Systems is launching a critical integration project that ties together billing, CRM, and internal APIs. We need a Database Administrator to design, tune, and maintain the data layer that supports seamless data flow across these systems.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement schema changes to support new integration points
• Optimize query performance for high‑volume transactional workloads
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines between PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL
• Ensure data integrity, backup, and disaster‑recovery procedures
• Collaborate with developers and QA to troubleshoot data‑related issues

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production
• Strong SQL performance tuning and indexing expertise
• Experience building reliable data pipelines and replication
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix administration
• Solid understanding of API‑driven data exchange

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerized database deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of data security best practices and GDPR compliance
