About the role

Ridgeline Software is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a Database Administrator to lead the overhaul, ensuring databases run at peak efficiency and stay highly available.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze current PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL workloads and identify bottlenecks.
• Design and implement indexing, partitioning, and query‑optimization strategies.
• Set up automated monitoring, alerting, and failover mechanisms.
• Collaborate with developers to refactor queries and schema designs.
• Document performance benchmarks and provide regular status reports.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production.
• Deep expertise in performance tuning, replication, and backup strategies.
• Strong scripting abilities (Bash, Python) for automation.
• Experience with cloud‑hosted databases and containerized environments.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure as code.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus or Grafana.
