About the role

Orbit Labs is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay live 24/7. We need a GraphQL API Developer to design and implement a zero‑downtime migration strategy while keeping existing services uninterrupted.

Key responsibilities

• Architect a new GraphQL layer that coexists with legacy REST endpoints
• Refactor critical data services to NodeJS while preserving API contracts
• Implement feature flags and blue‑green deployments for seamless cut‑over
• Write automated tests and monitoring hooks to verify uptime during rollout
• Collaborate with DevOps to configure CI pipelines for incremental releases

Must-have skills

• Deep experience building production GraphQL APIs
• Proficiency in NodeJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Strong understanding of REST API patterns and migration tactics
• Familiarity with zero‑downtime deployment techniques
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience with React front‑ends consuming GraphQL
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
