About the role

BlueSky Ventures is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a seasoned Microservices Architect to define the core service landscape. You will shape the architecture, set standards, and mentor a remote‑first engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design a scalable microservices ecosystem using Java and event‑driven patterns
• Define containerization strategy with Docker and orchestrate deployments on Kubernetes
• Establish API contracts, security, and observability guidelines
• Collaborate with product owners to translate requirements into service blueprints
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical mentorship

Must-have skills

• 5+ years building microservices in Java
• Deep experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud‑native best practices
• Ability to design fault‑tolerant, highly available systems

Nice to have

• Experience with serverless functions
• Knowledge of GraphQL or gRPC
• Background in fintech or data‑intensive SaaS platforms
