About the role

Cascade Apps is revamping its customer‑facing services to boost speed and uptime. We need a Microservices Architect to design a resilient, high‑throughput architecture and guide the implementation across multiple teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define a microservices blueprint that balances latency, scalability, and fault isolation.
• Audit existing services, identify bottlenecks, and propose refactoring strategies.
• Design and enforce API contracts, versioning, and observability standards.
• Lead containerization migration to Docker and orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes.
• Mentor engineers on performance testing, circuit‑breaker patterns, and graceful degradation.

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing and scaling microservice ecosystems.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Java development background and familiarity with Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Solid understanding of distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of event‑driven architectures and messaging systems.
• Familiarity with chaos engineering practices.
