Senior MongoDB Specialist for Automated Query Plan Overhaul

About the role

CloudWave Digital is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a MongoDB Specialist to design the data layer from scratch. You will work with a remote‑first team to define schemas, set up sharding, and ensure high‑availability for a fast‑growing user base.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement MongoDB clusters for multi‑tenant workloads
• Design optimal document schemas and indexing strategies
• Write migration scripts and data validation pipelines
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate MongoDB with NodeJS services
• Establish monitoring, backup, and disaster‑recovery processes

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with MongoDB deployment, scaling, and performance tuning
• Strong grasp of data modeling for SaaS applications
• Proficiency in JavaScript/NodeJS ecosystems
• Ability to write clear documentation and automated tests

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes for database containers
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database changes
